The essential bread for breaking the fast during Ramadan, this bread with poppy seeds is so light, soft, and easy to make that you only need to prepare it once to love it.

Prep Time15 minsCook Time30 minsTotal Time45 mins
Ingredients
 180 Water
 2 Salt
 750 Flour
 2 Baker's yeast
 1 Poppy seed
Directions
1

In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients in the order they appear on the list, except for the poppy seeds. Mix and knead the dough until a smooth, elastic dough forms (about 10 to 15 minutes). Shape into a ball.

2

Grease and flour the baking tray. Place the dough ball in the center and flatten it with your fingertips, somewhat like making a pizza. Prick the entire surface of the dough with a fork. Sprinkle it with poppy seeds, cover it with a cloth, and let it rest for 45 minutes.

3

The dough will double in volume. Place the tray in a hot oven at 220°C for 25 to 30 minutes. Monitor the cooking.

4

To finish, I made it this way, but you can also shape small balls of dough. Flatten them in the same way, keeping the same resting and baking time.

Very good Very simple and very good recipe. Small issue, the sesame seeds fall off. My suggestion: Actually, you need to add a little more water. For the dough to rise, it needs to be warm and protected from drafts (2 hours for me, the bread had more than doubled) and for a hard crust, a little trick is to place a small dish of water in the oven when you turn it on.

To perfect it! My suggestion: mix 1/2 flour and 1/2 very fine semolina, make 4 balls, then let rise for 30 minutes, flatten and let rise again for 30 minutes, you can brush with olive oil and sprinkle sesame seeds, then bake.
