Preparation of the filling Mix all the filling ingredients in a saucepan and pre-cook this mixture over low heat until it thickens. Then let it cool and set aside.

Preparation of the dough Beat the eggs with the sugar, then add the flour and baking powder, the milk, the melted butter, and finally the vanilla.

Assembly In a greased or silicone cake pan, place half of the batter, then the slightly cooled filling, and finally the other half of the batter. Bake for 40 minutes in an oven preheated to 180 °C.

    The cake is really good, but I find it too sweet when following the recipe's measurements... and 40 minutes of baking time don't seem to be enough (in my case).

    This recipe is really great! The first time I made it was in 2015-2016, I believe, and then I couldn't find it again until today. I'm very happy! Today, I made it with almond powder and it's good too, although I slightly prefer it that way (just a matter of taste). Thank you for the recipe! Be blessed!

    It has become a must in our home!!! For the filling, I use pineapple compote and I stick with agar-agar, which makes it even more flavorful. A big thank you for this great recipe!!!

    I love this recipe, it's so good. However, the cake needs much more cooking time; 40 minutes is not enough, it should be about 1 hour for perfect cooking. I use agave syrup instead of sugar in the filling for more lightness.
