A great way to recycle your stale bread that has been neglected at the back of the cupboard into a delicious dessert.
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Soak the raisins and roughly chopped nuts in rum. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the almond flour. Mix everything to avoid lumps.
Add the milk and mix. Remove the crust from your bread and cut it into pieces. Generously butter a rectangular baking dish. Place half of the bread in the dish. Add the nuts, raisins, and chocolate chips. Moisten halfway with the milk mixture. Repeat the process with the remaining bread.
To finish, add the remaining milk and dried fruits. Sprinkle with butter pieces. Bake at 180°C for 30-35 minutes.
