This recipe for Italian pasta gratin with sausages is provided by FoodSaver.
Sauté the onions, garlic, and bell peppers gently in oil until they are tender.
Add the tomato purée and cook for 1 minute, stirring.
Add the herbs, sugar, and the broth cube. Cook for 1 minute, stirring well.
Incorporate the tomatoes, season, and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 45 to 60 minutes until thickened.
While the sauce simmers, cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water and drain well.
Fry the meatballs in a little oil in a large pot until they are golden brown.
Add the cooked pasta and meatball sauce. Spread everything in a baking dish, sprinkle with grated cheese, and bake in the oven at 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the dish is hot.
It's ready! Serve the gratin with a green salad and garlic bread.
To finish, Tip: If you have some leftover gratin, vacuum seal it and store it longer in a freshness container!
