Discover this homemade apple pie recipe, old-fashioned style. A classic recipe to adapt and adopt! It can also be made in a variation with cream or with a base of applesauce to capture all the sweetness of grandma's pies!
Preparation of the shortcrust pastry Prepare the shortcrust pastry with flour, butter cut into small pieces, salt, and sugar. Mix with half a glass of water to form a ball.
Preparing apple sauce Prepare a small apple sauce with 2 apples cut into small pieces, sugar, cinnamon or a split vanilla bean, and a bit of water. Cook in a saucepan over low heat for about 15 minutes or 8 minutes in the microwave, then blend.
Preparation of the tart Roll out the dough and line the tart pan. Prick the dough with a fork. Peel and slice the apples thinly. Spread a layer of applesauce on the bottom of the tart, then arrange the fruit slices on top. Lightly sprinkle with sugar if desired, according to taste.
Cooking Bake at 200°C (thermostat 6/7) for about 30 minutes.
