Loved by the whole family and very simple to make!

 100 Sugar
 3 Egg
 150 Flour
 15 Baking powder
Syrup
 5 Water
 250 Sugar
 6 Rum

Preheat the oven to 150°C. Beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture turns pale.

Add the flour and the baking powder gradually.

Grease and flour a mold and pour in the previous mixture. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. (Check for doneness with a knife: if the blade comes out dry, the cake is cooked.)

While the cake is baking, make the syrup: pour water and sugar into a saucepan and heat until a liquid syrup is obtained. Remove from heat and add the rum.

To finish, when the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and pour the syrup over it without taking it out of the mold so that the syrup thoroughly soaks the cake. Unmold it when it is warm.

    Too much sugar in the syrup. I put in half as much. It's a good idea to put the syrup in the mold, however, I unmold the cake before putting it back into the mold. Once soaked, the cake is much easier to unmold.

    Cooking time: doubled compared to the recipe. To test the cooking, the fact that I pierced the cake probably caused it to collapse. As a result, it is completely flat. I could post a picture, but that would be too embarrassing. So easy recipe: not for me.
