A delicious recipe for a tuna rougail that takes your taste buds on a journey.
Cut the tuna into pieces. Season it and set aside. Peel and slice the onion. Peel and crush the garlic. In a large skillet or wok, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the pieces of tuna and sauté them for 2 minutes on each side. Set aside in another container.
Sauté the chopped onion in the pan until it becomes translucent. Add the crushed garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Incorporate the crushed tomatoes, turmeric, cumin, and thyme into the pan. Mix and cook everything for 5 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. Place the pieces of tuna in the pan and coat them with the sauce.
To finish, let it simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust the seasoning. Garnish the dish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with fragrant rice.
