Recipe for Cambodian Pepper Beef – Lok Lak

Today I propose an Asian dish, made with beef. A recipe that is very popular in Cambodia, as well as in neighboring countries, called Loc Lak. It consists of small pieces of marinated beef in a sauce with Asian flavors and pepper, then stir-fried over high heat in a wok. A delicious dish that takes us on a journey, very easy and quick to make.

General
 750 beef (sirloin, tenderloin, steak, flank)
 2 Sunflower oil
 1 large onion
Marinade
 6 oyster sauce
 6 salty soy sauce
 1 sweet soy sauce
 1 crushed pepper
 6 Cornstarch
 ¾ Baking soda
 3 cloves finely chopped garlic
Stir fry sauce
 3 oyster sauce
 6 salty soy sauce
 6 Sugar
 2 lime juice

Cut the beef into strips about 3-4 cm * 1-1.5 cm.

In a bowl, mix all the marinade ingredients. Add the meat and mix well to coat it. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.

In another bowl, mix all the ingredients for the stir fry sauce. Set aside.

Peel the onion, cut it in half, then slice it.

Heat the oil in a wok over high heat. Add the pieces of meat and spread them out. Let cook for 1 minute, then stir. Repeat the same procedure several times until the beef is cooked.

Add the onions and continue cooking for another minute, stirring. Then do the same with the stir fry sauce.

To finish, turn off the heat and let the meat sit in the wok for 1 minute. Then serve with white rice.
