Yields4 Servings
Ingredients
 500 Pork shoulder
 2 Onion
 50 Bamboo shoot
 2 Red bell pepper
 1 Carrot
 60 Fresh or frozen ginger
 1 Liquid honey
 2 Soy sauce
 2 Balsamic vinegar
 2 Four spices
 1 Paprika
 10 Sugar (for the caramel)
Directions
1

Cut the meat into thin slices. You can also use tenderloin, but the meat is drier. Heat the wok (a large skillet can work) with a little oil and brown the meat over medium heat for 5 minutes.

2

Meanwhile, remove the seeds from the peppers and cut them into strips, slice the onions, and cut the carrots into sticks. Remove the meat from the heat, place it in a bowl, add the spice mix, half the ginger, and paprika, and mix.

3

Place the vegetables and the other half of the ginger in the wok and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes. Then add the meat, soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar. Cover and let simmer on low heat.

4

In the meantime, prepare the caramel: in a small saucepan, mix 4 tablespoons of water and 10 pieces of sugar (50 g). Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture turns slightly brown.

5

To finish, add 1 tablespoon of honey to the meat/vegetable mixture and pour the caramel in one go into the wok. Mix... It's ready!

Very good really very good.... you need to enjoy sweet and savory, but I will definitely make this recipe again without any problem. I followed the recipe to the letter, there's nothing to complain about!

SUPER A delight! Just as quick to prepare as to enjoy, and everyone loved it! Thank you My suggestion: I prefer to make the caramel "dry". I put the sugar in a saucepan without water and shake the pan from time to time without stirring to avoid incorporating air.

too much "4 spices" I read "4 spices" and used one found in a tropical region, the real one, coming from a tree (not a mix called that which contains almost none of that spice), and with your proportions the flavor was too strong and overwhelming. My suggestion: I started over by reducing the amount. I used candied ginger, I did not cut the tenderloin before cooking to keep it tender but only after when I added it back with the vegetables. And this slightly improved recipe, in my opinion, allows us to enjoy all its flavors and we love it. Thank you for introducing me to it.

So simple and so good If I had known it was this easy to make for an almost perfect result, I would have tried it sooner! Thank you for this recipe.

Response to Lalie Lalie, to prevent the caramel from crystallizing, you need to set your saucepan over low to medium heat, no more, and add 2 or 3 drops of lemon juice. Thank you for testing my recipe!
