What could be more representative of Christmas than the shining ornaments on the tree? To immerse your guests in the magic of Christmas right from the appetizer, I suggest making these Christmas ornaments with caramelized tomatoes... Very simple to prepare, and very inexpensive, they will make a stunning addition to your holiday appetizer table! The touch of caramel makes them shine like the real ones and gives them a pleasantly crunchy texture in the mouth...
Pour the sugar, glucose, water, and drops of coloring into a saucepan. Bring to a boil and let caramelize for 10 minutes. If you have a cooking thermometer, heat the mixture to 150° C.
To finish, rinse and dry the cherry tomatoes. Insert a toothpick into each tomato. When the caramel is ready, dip each tomato into the red caramel and completely coat it in caramel. Then place the tomato on an oiled plate and let it cool.
