Prep Time35 minsCook Time15 minsTotal Time50 mins
Ingredients
 500 green beans
 1 half a white cabbage
 4 chicken cut into strips
 2 medium onions
1 soy sauce (the best brand to buy)
 3 oil
 1 coriander
 pepper
Thai rice for the side dish
Directions
1

On one side, soak the rice noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes while stirring, roughly chop them with scissors while they are in the water, then drain into a colander and rinse with cold water.

2

On the other hand: Cut the green beans on the diagonal and wash them in cold water in a colander. Slice the cabbage into thin strips. Cut the chicken into thin strips.

3

In a large pot, pour in the oil and the finely chopped onions. When they begin to brown, add the finely chopped chicken pieces, allowing the chicken to cook and brown a little before adding the beans, then the cabbage. Stir everything for 1 or 2 minutes. When the beans and cabbage are lightly cooked, add pepper and the chopped vermicelli.

4

To finish, mix everything well with the soy sauce over low heat. At the end of cooking, before serving, add roughly chopped coriander. Serve alone or with Thai rice on the side.

I learned to cook it with some individuals, and we add shelled shrimp... Recipe learned in a place where I lived for 2 years... A delight hot or cold. Recipe for a noodle dish with chili for those in the know...

Huge Old recipe that I learned in the 80s. My suggestion: Personally, I add pieces of red meat, cut into thin slices, such as flank steak, or something similar, cooked in a pan and added to the final dish. It’s a hit with the family.

the bami our grandmother is Indonesian My suggestion: in the bami, we sauté onion with garlic, it’s better. We also add carrot cut into quarters, finely chopped like the beans, as well as celery leaves; it’s best when the vegetables remain crunchy. Finally, regarding the soy sauce, it’s up to our preference, and don’t forget the salt and pepper.

Bahmi Delicious! My suggestion: Personally, I also add pork, sliced carrots, an omelet (2/3 eggs), fish sauce... The first one I had was in Nouméa "in a takeaway"!

What memories as well! My sister, who passed away very young, had introduced me to this recipe, which I loved and lost to my great regret. I am going to invite friends this week and make bami for them. I believe my sister also added carrot sticks and turkey.
