You will love this original peach jam flavored with vanilla, not too sweet! A pure delight spread on a slice of bread, perfect for an afternoon snack or breakfast. You can also make this traditional jam with flat peaches or other fruits.
Preparation of the fruits Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut them into small cubes. Cut the peaches into small pieces.
Mix the ingredients. Place the peach pieces, diced apples, sugar, and split vanilla pods, scraped above the fruits and sugar, into a large bowl. Mix and cover everything with a cloth or plastic wrap. Let it rest overnight at room temperature.
Cooking the jam The next day, pour everything into a jam pot. Cook over low heat for about an hour. Stir regularly during cooking. At the end, remove the vanilla pods.
The jam is done when a few drops placed on a cold plate hold their shape.
Filling the jars Pour the hot jam into jars (sterilized and dry). Seal and turn the jars upside down until completely cooled.
Storage: Store the jars upright in a cool, dry place away from light until it's time to enjoy the jam.
