A must-have for the holiday season, salmon is featured in this tasty smoked salmon spread recipe. Serve it as an appetizer!
Chop the chives (keeping a few sprigs for decoration) and the shallot. Cut 4 slices of smoked salmon into small pieces.
In a bowl, crush the soft cheese with a fork and mix with the cream to soften it. Then gently fold in the slices of smoked salmon along with the chopped chives and the lumpfish caviar.
Add the cream cheese-onion mixture to the bottom of the rectangle of smoked salmon and shape it into a tube by rolling the salmon with plastic wrap. Then, form a ballotine by tightening the ends to ensure the roll is well compacted.
To finish, swirl the spread and place the two slices of smoked salmon in the center. Garnish with salmon eggs and chives. Keep refrigerated until serving.
