Here is the recipe for sfirya, a small cake usually made with minced bread but prepared here with potato and served with chicken.
In a large pot or saucepan, sauté the chicken thighs in oil.
Add the onion, let simmer, then add salt, pepper, a little cinnamon, the peeled and chopped potatoes, the chickpeas, and the parsley. Cover with water and cook until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the potatoes, place them in a bowl with the cream cheese and mash until smooth. Add the parsley, the egg, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs, and mix well.
Finally, shape the mixture into slightly flattened patties, roll them in breadcrumbs, and fry. Serve with the chicken, chickpeas/onions, and a bit of parsley.
