Very easy recipe to make pretty puff pastry apple tartlets in the shape of an apple, 3D style.

Preheat the oven to about 200°. Wash and then cut the apples in half, lengthwise. Remove some of the core. Lay them flat and then cut thin slices, following the shape of the apple. Dilute some food coloring in a little water and then heat for 2 minutes in the microwave. Pour the slices into the mixture, stirring a bit to color them.
Cut out circles slightly larger than the apple slices. Trim a bit of the bottom of the apple. Cut out leaves with a cookie cutter and shape small tails. This is optional!
Place the dough circles on parchment paper, then add a bit of apple compote to the centers without reaching the edges.
Place slices of apples harmoniously, putting the smaller ones in the center. Arrange the leaves and stems, pressing down slightly. Brush the dough with egg yolk or milk.
Finally, bake for 20 minutes or until the dough is golden. Let cool, then dust with powdered sugar and enjoy.
