Recipe for Nut Financiers with Maple Syrup

Yields4 ServingsPrep Time15 minsCook Time20 minsTotal Time35 mins

What a treat these treats are! They are very soft and melt-in-your-mouth, and the nut pieces on the surface add a bit of crunch and a pleasantly roasted flavor. I highly recommend you give them a try. Plus, it's a convenient way to use up leftover egg whites.

Ingredients
 65 Melted and cooled butter
 40 Maple syrup
 75 Finely chopped walnut halves
 65 Powdered sugar
 40 Flour
 2 Egg white
Directions
1

Preheat the oven to 180°C, static heat.

2

Grease your financiers molds if they are not silicone.

3

In a small bowl, mix the melted and cooled butter with the maple syrup.

4

In a large bowl, mix the finely chopped nuts, powdered sugar, and flour with a whisk.

5

Add the butter-maple syrup mixture and mix again to incorporate it.

6

Separately, whip the egg whites a little to make them frothy, then fold them into the batter.

7

Fill the molds (placed on a tray for added stability, as they are made of silicone) with the batter, up to two-thirds of their height. Add one walnut half in the center of each portion.

8

Bake and cook for 20 minutes. Keep an eye on the oven as the cooking time depends on the size of the molds and each oven.

9

To finish, let cool slightly, then unmold and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
