Preheat the oven to 180°C. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs (there's no need to lighten the mixture). Melt the butter and add it to the previous mixture. Gradually incorporate the flour. Slowly mix in the milk (at room temperature). Grease the pan and pour in the batter. Bake for 15 minutes. Peel and cut the apples into large wedges (8 pieces each). Caramelize the 80g of butter and 80g of sugar in a pan, then brown the apples for 5 minutes. Add the caramelized apples on top of the batter, pressing them in slightly. Continue baking for 30 minutes.
