We often forget, but apart from jams and freezing, another traditional way to preserve fruits is by making syrups that will flavor water, milk, smoothies, or desserts... It's as simple as making your own syrup: just fruits, sugar, and that's it! Today, I suggest a very delicious strawberry syrup.
The day before: Clean the strawberries, cut them into pieces, place them in a bowl with water and lemon juice. Refrigerate.
The next day: pour the contents of the bowl into a saucepan, bring to a boil, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Transfer everything to a blender and blend.
To finish, strain everything to remove the seeds. Mix the preparation with the sugar. Let it dissolve before cooking. Bring to a boil and maintain cooking for 5 to 6 minutes. Then, while still hot, pour into previously cleaned and boiled bottles, then dried on a clean cloth. Seal tightly. The tightly sealed bottle can be stored for up to 1 year; once opened, keep it in the fridge and consume quickly.
