A classic comfort dish that everyone in the family enjoys: a vegetarian recipe for homemade mashed potatoes made with delicious potatoes, milk, cream, and a hint of nutmeg. Choose tender, preferably organic potatoes.
Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes of 3-4 cm.
Place them in a saucepan. Cover with water and add salt. Cook the potatoes for about 25 minutes. Pierce a potato to check if it is cooked: the knife should slide in easily.
Drain the potatoes.
Peel and chop the garlic. Mix with the potatoes.
Mash with a fork, potato masher, or food mill until the puree reaches the desired consistency (more or less mashed).
To finish, add milk, cream, butter, and nutmeg. Adjust the seasoning.
