 1 Amber beer
 3 Brown sugar or light brown sugar

Preparation of the ingredients: Cut the meat into thick slices. Peel the onions and carrots, and slice them into rounds.

Cooking In a pot, brown the slices of meat in the butter. Season. Add the flour, onions, and carrots. Mix well and let cook for 5 minutes while stirring, to soften the onions without coloring them.

Preparation of the sauce. Add the vinegar and cook for 2 minutes. Then add the beer, 500 ml of water, the brown sugar, thyme, bay leaves, cloves, and 5 slices of gingerbread cut into pieces. Bring to a boil, cover, then reduce the heat to let it simmer for 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Finishing Remove the lid, increase the heat, and cook uncovered, stirring, until the sauce has reduced by half.

Presentation Grill the remaining slices of gingerbread and cut into cubes. Serve the stew with fries and the grilled gingerbread cubes.

    Simple, excellent, well-balanced in flavors, I will make it again. I didn't have gingerbread on hand, so I used some spiced cookies spread with a bit of mustard.

    A little tip: if you put your carrots directly with the onions as mentioned in the recipe, after 2 hours and 45 minutes, your carrots will have lost all their vitamins and will be reduced to a puree ;-) a nutritionist's advice. Cook them so that they remain slightly crunchy.

    Recipe made, right now It's simmering. We tasted the sauce with the tip of the spatula and MY GOD! We're already salivating *-* My suggestion: Maybe a little less brown sugar for those who don't like it too sweet. Especially if the gingerbread used is very sweet to begin with xD.
