Put all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, except the yeast. Mix with an electric mixer for 5 minutes.
Add the yeast by sifting it through a fine strainer. Mix it with a wooden spoon.
If desired, add one of the optional ingredients or whatever your imagination suggests...
Grease a mold generously and pour the batter into it. Be careful to choose a mold that is large enough, as the batter should not exceed 2/3 full, otherwise it will overflow during baking.
Place the mold on the oven rack (in the middle) and bake at 180°C (thermostat 6) for 40 to 45 minutes.
To finish, check the cooking by inserting a skewer. If the cake is done, it should not stick to it.
