Cheddar and Chive Sun Tart Recipe

One must fully enjoy the aromatic herbs from the garden. It’s chives’ turn in this simple and truly delicious sun tart!

Ingredients
 2 round puff pastry
 1 Chives
 150 grated cheddar
 1 egg yolk

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Place the first dough disc on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Wash and finely chop the chives. Distribute them over the dough, leaving a border of 2 centimeters all around. Sprinkle the entire surface with cheddar, again leaving a 2-centimeter border.

Moisten the entire edge with water, then cover with the second layer of pastry. Seal the edges well by pressing with your fingers. Place an overturned glass in the center of the dough; this will be the base of the "sun." Using a knife, cut the dough into 4 sections. Then cut each quarter into 3 and each piece into 2. You will have 24 equal strips.

When the strips are cut, remove the glass. Twist each strip of dough gently to avoid tearing at the base. In this tart, I twisted each strip in the same direction, giving a slight inclination to the end of each strip. Dilute the egg yolk with a little water and brush it over the entire dough using a brush. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Bake for about 40 minutes.
