Enjoy this sauté of peas with bacon and lettuce. Old-fashioned peas that bring back delicious memories from the past. My mother-in-law treated us to this delightful dish as soon as the peas were ready in the garden and, oh surprise, my foodie had forgotten.
Shell the peas. Wash and dry the heart of the lettuce, then roughly separate it. Peel and chop the onion. Brown the bacon in a pot with the butter.
Finally, add the onion, lettuce, and peas. Cover with water and then add the piece of sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 30 minutes until the peas are tender.
