I had made the recipe for 3 people, so I divided the ingredients by two.

 12 Soft bread
 6 Ham
 Butter
 3 Egg
 50 Liquid cream
 Grated cheese
 Pepper
 Salt
 Nutmeg

Preheat the oven to 170°C (325°F). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for a lighter recipe.

Lightly butter the slices of bread and arrange them in the dish, overlapping them and placing half a slice of ham on each slice of bread. Finish with a slice of bread on top.

Whisk the eggs, cream, salt, pepper, and a little nutmeg. Pour this mixture over the slices of bread and let sit for 30 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the cream. Sprinkle the top with grated cheese.

To finish, place in the oven for about 20 minutes until the slices of bread are golden but not too much. Serve with a green salad.
