Dhal is a specialty from Northern India... a delight served with rice or naan for an exotic meal!

Ingredients
 ½ water
 200 red lentils
 100 split peas
 1 turmeric
 2 oil
 ½ red chili powder
 2 tomatoes
 a few coriander leaves
 1 clove garlic
 1 cumin
 1 curry
 1 pinch salt

In a thick-bottomed pan, bring the water to a boil, then add the lentils and split peas, and let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

First, heat the oil and sauté the garlic until golden, then add the chili followed by the chopped tomatoes and let cook for 3 to 4 minutes.

To finish, add the tomato preparation to the first mixture with the lentils, continue cooking for another 5 minutes, then add cumin, curry, coriander, and turmeric. Serve hot.
