Recipe for Cardamom Lost Breads

Yields4 ServingsPrep Time20 minsCook Time8 minsTotal Time28 mins

These cardamom French toasts are true little treats that are not complicated to make and are especially indulgent. You can definitely use stale bread instead of brioche (that’s actually why French toast was invented, to use up leftover bread lying around in the kitchen).

Ingredients
 100 Sugar
 4 cloves cardamom
 2 eggs
 2 milk
 ½ vanilla extract
 20 Butter
Directions
1

In the mortar, grind the cardamom seeds into a powder. On the plate, spread the sugar and cardamom powder, mix well, and flatten everything.

2

Beat the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Soak the slices of bread for 30 seconds on each side to thoroughly absorb the mixture.

3

Heat the butter in the pan over medium heat. When it starts to sizzle, place the slices of brioche in the pan to cook for 2 minutes on each side (make multiple batches if the pan is not large enough).

4

To finish, once cooked, dip the slices on each side in sugar. It's ready! Serve immediately while it's still hot (if you wish, you can drizzle a bit of honey or maple syrup on it, but we think it's sweet enough as is).
