A recipe to use a beautiful piece of butternut squash. A gratin dressed in orange and with a fine and pronounced taste.
Butter a baking dish suitable for the oven. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Peel and chop the scallion and shallots. Peel and wash the potatoes. Cut them into very thin slices (using a food processor or mandoline).
Remove the seeds with a tablespoon, wash and cut the pumpkin into thin slices. There is no need to peel it. Cut the ham into strips.
In the greased baking dish, spread the chopped shallots, layer a layer of potatoes, a layer of butternut squash, season with salt and pepper, add half of the nutmeg, half of the ham slices, sprinkle with pistachio powder and top with cheddar.
Start again by spreading a layer of potatoes, a layer of squash, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and add the other half of the ham. Pour the liquid cream over it. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Bake in a moderate oven for about 40 to 60 minutes.
To finish, serve hot in the baking dish. ENJOY YOUR MEAL!
