A quick and delicious tomato sauce. You won't buy ready-made tomato sauce anymore.
In a medium saucepan, lightly brown the halved garlic clove in olive oil. Add the tomato puree, sugar, and mix well. Season and add thyme. Let simmer over low heat (medium heat will cause it to splatter and dirty the stovetop) while stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the bottom of the saucepan.
To finish, stop cooking when the sauce is thick.
