Butternut is delicious prepared as a casserole. The butternut, bacon, and onion casserole is easy and quick to make. A tasty recipe to share with family and friends. Feel free to try adding sour cream, parmesan, potatoes, goat cheese, mozzarella, mushrooms...
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Preparation of the vegetables Peel the butternut squash, the onion, and the garlic. Remove the seeds from the butternut squash. Cut into cubes.
Cooking the vegetables Steam for 15 minutes. Set aside.
Slice the onion and chop the garlic, then sauté in olive oil. Set aside.
Cook the bacon. Sauté the bacon in the same pan.
Mix the ingredients. Combine the cooked bacon, onion, and garlic. Add the thyme, salt, and pepper, and mix.
Cooking the gratin Add the cooked butternut and the crushed nuts. Mix. Pour into a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes at 200°C.
