Ingredients
 2 large pears
 15 sugar
 2 eggs
 100 powdered sugar
 100 butter
 100 flour
 ½ baking powder
Directions
1

Preparation of the caramel In a small saucepan, prepare the caramel with the 15 pieces of sugar soaked in water. When it is golden, pour it into a mold.

2

Preparation of fresh pears Peel and core the pears, then slice them into thick pieces. Arrange them at the bottom of the pan over the caramel.

3

Preparation of the cake batter In a bowl, work the butter with a wooden spatula until creamy, add the sugar, mix well, and incorporate the whole eggs one by one. Mix the baking powder and flour together and gradually add them to the mixture. If you have leftover pieces of pears, you can mix them into the batter.

4

Baking the pear cake Pour the mixture into the mold without disturbing the pieces of pear and bake for 25-30 minutes at 180°C. Check for doneness by inserting the tip of a knife, which should come out dry.

5

Serve immediately after taking it out of the oven by inverting the mold onto a serving platter.

I make this recipe very often, it's excellent! Don't hesitate to make a good caramel at the bottom of the dish and to coat the pieces of pears with the caramel.

Very good recipe. The recipe for 6 corresponds to a dish with a maximum diameter of 25 cm, and the amount of dough is a bit tight, so feel free to increase the quantities a little.

Delicious! If you have a tin mold, make the caramel directly in it. Place it in the bottom of the oven, 20 minutes at 200°C and 20 minutes at 190°C. Just perfectly cooked!

I make it with apples and pears, all in double except for the sugar (due to diabetes)... after the cooking is finished, I moisten it with some pear or apple juice so that it remains nice and moist.

Still just as good (previously commented in 2013) but you should butter the sides of the mold where there is no caramel to make it easier to unmold. Otherwise, nothing needs to change; it’s very good and moist.
